Participant Frequently Asked Questions

Some common questions participants might have.

What are the rules regarding event logo usage on team uniforms?

Teams competing at a WFDF sanctioned event are permitted to use the official event logo on their uniforms only. Official logo must be no larger than 4"/10cm wide and can be used only once on any piece of official playing uniform. (Light and dark competition jerseys and shorts only).

The official event logo may not be used on non-uniform aspects intended for wear/use off the competition field. (Hats, long sleeves, warm-ups, bags, etc.) Use of the official event logo on uniforms does not mean that any team has any official connection or representation on behalf of the event. The use of the official event logo in ANY other form outside use on playing uniforms is strictly prohibited.

The event logo may not be used for printing in brochures, on promotional materials, adverts or discs. Any team found in breach of the uniform rules found in Section C of the Rules appendix or in breach of the terms for the logo use will be referred to the WFDF Tournament Rules Group. For Recommendations see the Uniform Guidelines.

Can sponsor logos be placed on our uniforms?

Addition of sponsor logos to team uniforms are permitted so long as the uniform, layout and design are all the same. Sponsors should not include sports nutrition, hard liquor, tobacco, and casino or gambling businesses.

How big should the number be on our jerseys?

This event will follow the current WFDF Rules of Ultimate. Refer to Appendix C on page 13 for exact wording on uniform requirements. Your number (located on the back of each playing jersey) should be a minimum of 16cm high and 3cm wide. Your team uniform will be checked at the Captain's meeting. If you are producing new uniforms, please refer to WFDF's uniform guidelines about uniforms.

Can I play in both WUCC and WMUCC in the same year, as long as I fit every other requirement (i.e., age and national federation requirements)?

Yes, a player is entitled to play in both WMUCC and WUCC if they meet all requirements for the roster. Rules say that a player can’t participate for more than one team during a single WFDF event. This means that they can’t play for more than one team at WUCC, but it doesn’t mean that they can’t play at both events (WUCC and WMUCC). Refer to Appendix D on page 16 of the WFDF Rules of Ultimate for D2.4: A single player may not participate on more than one team during a single WFDF Event.

Are there any roster size limitations?

Regarding roster sizes and caps, WUCC will be following normal WFDF Rules of Ultimate (current version). Section D5.2.1 states that rosters for teams must have a minimum of fourteen (14) and a maximum of twenty-eight (28) eligible players.

What are the associated event fees for WUCC 2022?

There are three different fee types for WUCC 2022: team fees, player fees, and non-playing team support fees (for coaches, admins, etc.). You can find further details about what each fee covers on the participant requirements page in the bulletin.

Could you please help us understand the "Personnel/Gender Ratio Rule" for Mixed teams?

At the start of the game, after the first disc flip, an additional disc flip happens with the winner selecting the personnel ratio for the first point of the game. After that first choice, teams do not get a choice about what the ratio will be for a point, regardless of whether they are on offence or defence, or which endzone they are at. As an example, if the personnel ratio that is selected for the first point of the game is with 4 female players, the second and third points of the game must be played with 4 male players. For the fourth and fifth points of the game the ratio must be 4 female players. This pattern of alternating the ratio every two points repeats until the end of the game (half time has no impact on the pattern).

To be clear, the "Gender Pull Rule" is NOT in effect for WMUCC or WUCC, so any player can pull the discs at the start of the game/after points. WFDF will ONLY use that rule for the IWGA World Games in 2022.

Could you please help us with the Visa process to enter USA?

WFDF and the Local Organizing Committee (LOC) are unable to provide specific advice on your visa application process. WUCC 2022 is able to confirm that teams are registered and or that players are part of a roster to play at our events.

TEAMS - All teams should have received their letter proving their registration. If your team did not receive a letter, please contact WUCC 2022. As a reminder, the letter confirms your team, division, and fees paid.

INDIVIDUALS - If you need to be personally named as part of the team participating, WUCC 2022 can only provide such a letter after your National Federation sends the tournament a list of rostered players that they endorse to form the official roster to play at club events and after players fees are paid.

Once WFDF is provided with the letter of endorsement (email from National Federation to Karina Woldt), WUCC 2022 can provide individuals with a specific letter for your visa applications and interviews. Fill out this form and WFDF will return your specific letter within 48 hours.

An example endorsement letter is available on Page 2 of this PDF. National Federations will have an option to change the roster if visa's are declined - you will all be asked again for the official rosters again at a later date.

Lastly, for anyone asking for a physical address as part of your visa application or entry to the host country, you should include the address of your hotel. Local Organizing Committee, WFDF staff, or WFDF board are unable to provide their personal addresses to you for this purpose.
